ARBS is Australia’s only international trade exhibition for the Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Building Services Industry. Held from 17-19th May 2016 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event connected over 250 local and international manufacturers and suppliers with thousands of industry decision makers and technical professionals. In addition to their usual 81m2 show stand, the company had a separate stand specifically devoted to retrofits and hands-on product training. Here the range of operating products was widely extended, enabling guests to touch, feel and experience the products.

As always, a wide range of products was on display, and application areas included:

Fans for Systems and Controls
Visitors were able to experience ebm-papst in action and find out how EC fans integrate with systems and controls for optimum performance. Information sessions were held each day to inform guests about high-level fan integration with interface and stand-alone controls, as well as their functionalities regarding monitoring, control and automation.

Commercial ventilation
The new, second-generation RadiPac EC centrifugal fans for air-handling units were shown in an interactive display. Individual RadiPac components are precisely adjusted to one another, resulting in the highest possible system efficiency, easy handling and low space requirements.

Commercial refrigeration
The axial fan family for evaporators – "AxiCool" from ebm-papst – has new members. The new sizes – 500, 630 and 800 – are designed with high-performance evaporators and air coolers in the commercial and industrial cooling sectors in mind. They are ideal for use in large cold storage facilities and the refrigerated warehouses and production rooms used in the food processing and food industries. Its integrated diffuser and discharge vane combination increases efficiency by over 30%. This allows the air performance to increase by up to 12% while reducing noise by up to 3 dB(A).

Residential ventilation
The display of new fans for residential ventilation units illustrated that efficiency and comfort can be achieved from ground floor to roof. The units are a perfect match for fan coil units, range hoods, ventilation boxes and heat recovery units, saving energy and increasing comfort.

EC Upgrades section
In its ‘Upgrades’ area ebm-papst informed visitors about the solutions that are offered as part of their EC Upgrades business unit. Upgrading fans in an air-conditioning, refrigeration or ventilation system can reduce power consumption by 50%, and significantly reduce maintenance costs. The new RadiFit EC centrifugal fan was another part of the showcase, a backward-curved complete unit with double inlet and scroll housing. The compact, efficient, upgrade solution was shown for the first time in Australia, along with new custom upgrades solutions.
