Melbourne, 11 October 2015: The ebm-papst team once again took part in the Around the Bay bike ride to raise funds for Engineers Without Borders Australia.

It was a fun day with great weather, conversation and challenge. Alexandra Gray, Project Engineer at ebm-papst A&&NZ: “The weather was perfect and it was great to race back after the Mordialloc stop. We got into our drop bars and off we went.”

As always, the 50km riders were met by Commercial Manager Roger at the rest stop in Altona. A car boot full of biscuits, drinks and snacks kept the riders going. A record team of 22 joined for the challenge this year, including visitors from the neighbouring ebm-papst branch in Singapore. The plan is to grow the team even further for next year’s ride.

Engineers Without Borders is a great charity that ebm-papst A&NZ have been supporting for several years. Around the world, 2.6 billion people lack basic sanitation and 1.1 billion have inadequate access to water. EWB's work involves sending young people abroad to solve these issues through community-based engineering.
