For four days, from November 16 to 19, the Australian Acoustical Society will be hosting Internoise in Melbourne. InterNoise 2014 is the 43rd International Congress and Exposition on Noise Control Engineering. ebm-papst A&NZ Managing Director Dr Simon Bradwell will be giving a presentation on "The modelling of flow and the reduction of turbulences (standard, quiet and super quiet)".

Over the last 40 years, the I-INCE (International Institute of Noise Control Engineering) and its conference series have become an indispensable element of international noise control activities. As stated by Joachim Scheuren, president of I-INCE: "In spite of the many successful noise reducing activities in the past, unwanted sounds are far from being or getting under control within acceptable limits. This is because all success in noise control tends to be compensated by ongoing mechanization and industrialization which in turn needs more and new control efforts."

In his presentation, Simon will be covering ways to reduce fan noise to contribute to comfortable and quiet air movement applications. The presentation is scheduled for Monday 17 November, 4pm, room 212 and is part of session B1, Fan and duct noise, which is chaired by Colin Tickell.

Simon is Chairman of the Fan Manufacturers Association of Australia and New Zealand (FMA-ANZ) and Managing Director of ebm-papst A&NZ. He is an Executive Director at ARBS and part of the Executive Management Committee of AREMA. Simon works broadly with Australian federal and state governments on fan efficiencies and other motor related issues. He is a Chartered Engineer with a Doctorate in Engineering from the UK. His 14 years of fan industry experience spans Europe, Africa and Australasia.
