RadiPac EC centrifugal fans will provide just the right atmosphere when the athletes compete for gold, silver, and bronze at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Our fans will be in operation not just in the stadiums, but also in buildings such as the Press Centre – our Moscow colleagues sent us this brilliant snapshot of the ventilation system from the roof.

The Main Media Center occupies an area of more than 100,000?m² in the Olympic town of Sochi, Russia. Up to 15 thousand mass-media representatives will be able to work there. The Media Center is designed like a city. There will be a central street, a bank, fitness studios, cafés and restaurants, a pharmacy, a gym and even a laundry. This makes excellent air-conditioning a key factor.

The Adler Arena Skating Center, Sochi, Russia has been designed in the shape of an iceberg. The speed skating oval in the Olympic Park in Sochi, Russia seats 8,000 people and opened in 2012. During the 2014 Winter Olympics, the center will host the speed skating events. After the Olympics, it will be turned into an exhibition center. The air-conditioning for the Main Media Center and the Adler Skating Center will be done by Johnson Controls Air Handling Units (AHU) with GreenTech EC centrifugal fans – RadiPac inside.


Modern ventilation technology equipment draws in fresh air from the surrounding atmosphere and at the same time expels the used air from the building. In this process, both air flows are routed via a heat exchanger and so transfer the heat energy from the waste air flow to the incoming air. The purpose of the RadiPac fans in such systems is to convey the air.


The large units in the RadiPac series are typically used in office complexes, whereas the smaller models are ideal for energy efficient blocks of apartments, family homes and passive houses – a sector which is becoming ever more important for us. RadiPacs are also used in situations where high pressure has to be overcome to convey air. Such applications include the cooling of inverters in wind turbines and air purification in chemical processes.


Our customers are to be found all over the world and demand energy efficient, versatile products which are easy to handle. In view of the long distances involved, transportation safety is also an important aspect of product design. The new, cube-shaped RadiPac is the answer to all these requirements.


The RadiPac is designed for optimum ease of installation. Users receive a full package configured to meet their specific requirements and ready for connection to the power supply. In contrast to other products and systems there is no need for time-consuming adjustment work.

It is available with an input power of up to 12 kilowatts. Up until now the maximum in this product family was just six kilowatts.

9 Sizes

The RadiPac is available with a choice of nine impeller diameters. Each size of impeller is combined with motors with different power ratings to cover a broad application spectrum. The Product Selector software which we provide free of charge helps our customers find the right fan.

One version for two intallation situations

The advantage of the cube design: Although the RadiPac is usually installed on vibration absorbing elements on the bottom of the ventilation unit with the motor shaft horizontal, there is no reason why the same fan should not be operated with a vertical motor shaft. In other words, one version for two installation situations.
